It is intended for installations using devices such as access points, IP cameras, and IP phones, allowing several network endpoints to receive data and power through dedicated RJ45 outputs. The unit supports 10/100/1000 Mbps data rates, so it can be used with Ethernet or Gigabit connections within the documented range. Data enters through RJ45 connections, while the output ports carry both data and power to the attached devices.Power can be provided from a 12–48 VDC source through either the DC jack or the terminal block connector, giving two documented connection methods for supplying the unit. The DC plug uses a 2.1 × 5.5 mm connector. Output power depends directly on the applied input power, making the selected power source an important part of system planning.
